The hill town of Montepulciano in southeast Tuscany is the home of this red wine with the resounding name and the legend of having been described as ’king of all wines’ by the poet Francesco Redi in the 17th century.
Among the sweet harmony of the hill, under clean skies by the sea breeze, the vine takes its root in a soil made of different stratifications of sedimentary clays, typical of the morphology of this territory that turns into wine of the traditional delicate taste like the land of Abruzzo.
Introduced to the region at the beginning of the 19th century, the Montepulciano variety rapidly adapted to local conditions and quickly diffused.
The production area of this wine includes the territories of the regions four provinces and in particular of Teramo which environmental conditions present a certain uniformity.
Terre di Casali Montepulciano Noccese is made from organics grapes of this variety with the addition of 15% of other non-aromatic red-grape varieties of the region.
It has an intense ruby-red colour with purplish shadings that tend to become orange with aging, a vinous, tenuous and appealing odor and a dry, soft, sapid and lightly tannic flavour.
This organic wine, produced and bottled by Azienda Agricola Chiusa Grande at Nocciano, Perugia, Italy, has been certified by Istituto per la Certificazione Etica e Ambientale (ICEA) Aut.Mi.PA: F.DM. nº 91737 del 18/07/02 in applicazione del Reg. CEE 2092/91 IT ICA S006 F 020111
