South of the great vineyards of Bordeaux and sheltered from the Atlantic by the forest of the Landes, the vine flourishes in scattered areas which have strong local traditions.
Cahors is the senior wine of this part of France in reputation, promoted in 1971 to Appellation Controlee status. In Cahors they will tell you how, centuries ago, it was their wine that was most in demand among foreign buyers in Bordeaux.
Terroir: Croix du Mayne is a 20 ha vineyard situated on a gravelly soil on a second terrace of the Lot Valley, exposed south, southwest.

Cepages : fruity wine with spicy tannins and elegant woody notes made essentially from Malbec grapes with a slight touch of Merlot.
Barrel-aged 14 months.
