"BARONCINI"
ORVIETO CLASSICO
PRODUCER: CANTINE BARONCINI
DOC UMBRIA

This is one of Italy's historically renowned white wines and by far the most important DOC in Umbria, produced near the medieval hill city of the same name.

Orvieto was an important Etruscan city. The magnificent cellars cut in the volcanic rock of its dramatic hilltop 3,000 years ago are unique examples of prehistoric technology, specifically designed for long cool fermentation.

Orvieto Classico accounts for around two-thirds of the 140,000 hl produced in an average year. It is based on 50-65% of Trebbiano grapes with additions of Verdello, Grechetto, Drupeggio, and Malvasia. Grechetto is risponsible for bringing nuttiness and green fruits to the wine.

Baroncini Orvieto Classico is an "amabile" version, a soft-dry wine with a hint of crystallized sultanas and honey in its make-up the flavour structure is rich and vibrant with a good balance between rich fruit and clean-cut acids

Serving suggestiones: white meats, white sauces, rice and cheeses.
