"TESSALICO" GRECO DI TUFO
PRODUCER: AZIENDA PIETRACUPA
DOC CAMPANIA

In spite of the fact that viticulture in this region dates back prior to colonization by the Greeks, it is definitely to grape varieties originating in Greece that Campania owes the fine reputation it has recently achieved in the Italian winemaking scene - Although this is a region with a wealth of DOCS, few of the wines are well known outside of Camapania, even though these areas include, for example, the world-famous Island of Ischia and Capri - Among the varieties on which the renaissance of viticulture and winemaking in Campania is based are Aglianico for reds and, for white wines, Greco, Fiano and the more recently popular Falanghina.

Tessalico Greco di Tufo, produced in the province of Avellino, is made from Greco, which is one of the oldest grape varieties cultivated in Italy, having been introduced following the Greek colonization of the South of the country.

The wine has a straw yellow colour and a floral, fruity bouquet with rich aromas in which hints of peach and almond stand out - It has a full, soft, rounded flavour, yet is dry and crisp ath the same time.

Serving suggestions: it is particularly appropriate for fish-based dishes, seafood, pasta with vegetables, or soups.

Ideal serving temperature: 10-12 C
