"LES SIRIANES"
PRODUCER: PAUL DU PELOUX AOC COSTIERES DE NIMES

The Rhône is one of France’s main arteries, dividing départements, fostering trade and commerce, and nurturing agriculture. The Romand used it on their way north.

Most classical historians consider that it was on the Côtes du Rhône that vines were first planted in France.

Different grape varieties are given predominance according to the prevailing soil.

The Rhône in fact, provides virtually every type of wine that one could want, from deep, long-lived reds, to more light, quaffing versions, luscious dessert wines and sparklings.

In 1942, Paul Du Peloux, founder and grandfather of the present chairman and CEO Jerôme Seguin, settled in Courthezon, a historical village at the heart of the Avignon region, and launched the family business.

The major expansion began in 1990 when export activities commenced, followed by the purchases of “Domaine Mas de Beaulieu” (Pont du Gard) in 1999 and “Cave du Pont de Crillon” (Courthezon) in 2001.

Les Sirianes Costieres de Nîmes was made blending traditional Rhône grapes with a majority of Grenache and Syrah.

This is a full-flavoured and soft wine which matches very well savoury dishes.

It may also be drunk on its own and is best served at room temperature.
