A wise combination of ancestral traditions with constant technology improvements grant Lopez's wines a dual condition of classic and modern at the same time.

The founder, Jose Lopez Rivas, born in Algarrobo, Malaga, Spain, where he devoted himself and his family to vine and olive growing, arrived to Argentina in 1886, fleeing from a destroying plague affecting European vineyards, the Phylloxera.

In 1898 he definitely settled down in Mendoza.

In 1898 a property was acquired in General Gutierrez, where the present winery was built.

Bodegas Lopez own cultivated land comprises 1,000 ha of vineyards plus 97 ha of olive groves

Casona Lopez Syrah: 100% Syrah varietal from our vineyards located in the Upper Valley of Mendoza River. This is a superb wine, young and fruity, with intense red colour and violaceous notes.

Ideal accompaniment are red meats and pasta with light sauces.
