"CHATEAU HAUT-NOUTCHET"
PESSAC-LEOGNAN GRANDE RESERVE
PRODUCER: LOUIS LURTON

Bordeaux is the largest source of quality wines in the world.

Its flat countryside is attractive, if not spectacular. However, without the lush vineyards and the illustrious names of the great chateaus, there would be little to thrill the traveller.

Sandwiched between the regions of Cognac and Armagnac, Bordeaux is the largest departement in France and the wine it produces generates more revenue than any other region.

It was here, in the southern outskirts of the city of Bordeaux, that the whole concept of great red Bordeaux was launched, in the 1660s, by the owner of Chateau Haut-Brion. Its arid sand and gravel had already supplied the region and its export market with its best red wine since at least 1300. In 1987 the area was given its own appellation.

No family is more active today than the Lurtons, owners of chateaux all over Bordeaux.

Ch Haut-Nouchet Grand Reserve is a full-bodied and well-balanced red wine from the Graves area, to the South of town of Bordeaux. Made from the classical mix of Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot, and using Organic methods with natural yeasts, aged in barrels and no filtration in order to meet Ecocert standards.
