Rome calls to mind wines of golden hue.

Frascati is prima donna of the Castelli Romani, the green-clad clump of spent volcanoes southeast of Rome that harbours six of Lazio’s 16 DOC zones.Frascati Superiore is made using Trebbiano Toscano, Malvasia di Candia and Malvasia Toscana grapes. It is also knows as “the golden wine of the Popes” because has always been served in the Vatican City.

At the foot of the Tusculan Hills, rises Casale Cerquetta in the vicinity of Monteporzio Catone, where Vincenzo Ciuffa carries on the winemaking activity started by his family in 1793. Area planted: 350ha.

Cerquetta Frascati Superiore Secco is bright straw yellow wine. Its bouquet has delicate scents of wild flowers, apples and hawthorn flowers.
On the palate it is dry, soft and fruity, with hints of bitter almonds.

Serving suggestions: with pasta and rice dishes, fish and white meats.
Ideal serving temperature: 10-12C
