                 “LES SIEURS DE BELLEGRAVE”
Bordeaux is the largest source of quality wines in the world.
Its flat countryside is attractive, if not spectacular. However, without the lush vineyards and the illustrious names of the great chateaus, there would be little to thrill the traveller.
Sandwiched between the regions of Cognac and Armagnac, Bordeaux is the largest departement in France and the wine it produces generates more revenue than any other region.
62% Cabernet Sauvignon, 31% Merlot, 7% Cabernet Franc (3 hA)
Plantation density 8333 vines per hectare (20 years)
                  Soil: Gravely soil
Temperature control; 12 month ageing in oak barrels; manual harvest; de-buding; green harvest in July; environement protection agriculture (sustainable). This cru bourgeois located betewn Pichon Lalande and Lynch Bages is definitively investing in quality.
The second wine of Chateau Bellegrave. 12000 bottles only are available on the market. The Meffre family owner of Chateau Du Glana since 1957 bougt Chateau Bellegrave in 1997. The 2000 vintage is really the first vintage showing what the great terroir of Bellegrave will produce in the future.
Tasting notes: beautiful deep colour; lovely fruit; spices; long finish.
