“CHATEAU LAURETTE” ST CROIX DU MONT
Bordeaux is the largest source of quality wines in the world.
Its flat countryside is attractive, if not spectacular. However, without the lush vineyards and the illustrious names of the great chateaus, there would be little to thrill the traveller.
Sandwiched between the regions of Cognac and Armagnac, Bordeaux is the largest departement in France and the wine it produces generates more revenue than any other region.
Cepages: 75% Semillon 25% Sauvignon Blanc (50 years)
                  Soil: clayey-silico-limestone (43 Ha)
Grapes touched by botrytis cinerea are hand-picked through several and successive passages in the vineyard. Vinification is traditional and carried-out in an air-conditioned cuverie. Wines are aged in oak casks of 60 hl capacity.
Tasting notes: A buttercup colour and honeyed bouquet of white flowers and candied fruit characterise this rich, generous and long-lived wine.
Decant before drinking and serve at 14C with either foie gras or a
                  strong cheese like Roquefort
