“DOMAINE ST REMY” GEWURTZRAMINER RESERVE

Alsace is picturesque wine country. The ribbon of vineyards is broken by small villages, full of tall, overhanging half-timbered houses, decorated in the summer with brightly planted window boxes.
Although vines has been grown in Alsace probably since the Romans and certainly since the Merovingians in the eighth and nineth centuries, the development of the Alsace vineyards as we know it today is relatively new, dating from after the FWW.
The Appellation Controlee system reached Alsace in 1962.
Discovering Domain Saint Remy is an intimate way of exploring Rhineland history and culture. It is also to enter a beautiful property located 5km south of Colmar, where you will find all the family treasures which has been passed on from generation to generation.
Gewurztraminer is probably the best-known of all Alsace wines, and noted for its exceptionally aromatic character.
It has a deep colour and complex aroma of fruit (quince, grapefruit, lychee), flowers (acacia, roses) and spice (cinnamon, clover, pepper).
Rich round and well-structured, sometimes lightly sweet, it is a charming wine that can often age well.
Classic matches: all strongly-flavoured cheeses, like Munster, blue cheeses, etc. It goes well also with all desserts that are not too sweet.
Gewurztraminer`’s aroma makes it particularly suited to the exotic perfumes of Asian, Indian, Moroccan cuisie
