“DOMAINE ST REMY” TOKAY PINOT GRIS RESERVE

Alsace is picturesque wine country. The ribbon of vineyards is broken by small villages, full of tall, overhanging half-timbered houses, decorated in the summer with brightly planted window boxes.
Although vines has been grown in Alsace probably since the Romans and certainly since the Merovingians in the eighth and nineth centuries, the development of the Alsace vineyards as we know it today is relatively new, dating from after the FWW.
The Appellation Controlee system reached Alsace in 1962.
Discovering Domain Saint Remy is an intimate way of exploring Rhineland history and culture. It is also to enter a beautiful property located 5km south of Colmar, where you will find all the family treasures which has been passed on from generation to generation.
Many Alsatians would call this their favourite style of wine: opulent, full, rich, soft, well balanced, good acidity, a touch of pepper, with a long finish, fruity complex bouquet, quite high in alcohol and with the ability to age over a long period.
Classic matches: it is the perfect partner for flavourful dishes like foie-gras, white meats, poultry in sauce and even game birds.
Unusual matches: it perfectly matches full-flavoured food like sweetbreads, calves liver and kidneys, and is ideal with all mushrooms-based dishes.
