"CHATEAU BOVILA"
MALBEC- MERLOT
PRODUCER: OLIVIER PIERON
AOC CAHORS – FRANCE

Chateau Bovila is located in the Fargues commune (8km from Montcuq) on a hillside at 266 metres altitude and produces traditional Cahors wine on clay-chalky soil typical of the region. The vineyard covers 20 hectares.
Chateau Bovila is made up of ridges and plateaux, with original vineyard soil producing wines of great quality. The Bovila priory, mentioned in the 14th century as the property of the prior of Catus then Clarisses de Cahors, gave its name to the prestigious cuvée produced at the chateau: "Prieuré de Bovila".
On the banks of the Lot river, along the historic gabarre shipping lane that leads to the Bordeaux harbor, and the route that has been always followed by the pilgrims of Saint Jacques de Compostelle, you will discover the REUTENAUER label and its great vintage Cahors wines.
Chateau Bovila was founded in 1971 by E. Reutenauer, a passionate advocate of Cahors, who made these wines famous around the world. Nowadays, Olivier Pieron is still promoting this classic heritage, producing high quality Cahors from this 20 hectares estate
Tasting notes: fruity wine with spicy tannins and elegant woody notes made essentially from Malbec grapes with a touch of Merlot. Barrel-aged 14 months.
