                Chateau Bovila is located in the  Fargues commune (8km from Montcuq) on a hillside at 266 metres altitude and  produces traditional Cahors wine on clay-chalky soil typical of the region. The  vineyard covers 20 hectares. 
                  Chateau Bovila is made up of  ridges and plateaux, with original vineyard soil producing wines of great  quality. The Bovila priory, mentioned in the 14th century as the property of  the prior of Catus then Clarisses de Cahors, gave its name to the prestigious  cuvée produced at the chateau: "Prieuré de Bovila". 
                  On the banks of the Lot river,  along the historic gabarre shipping lane that leads to the Bordeaux harbor, and  the route that has been always followed by the pilgrims of Saint Jacques de  Compostelle, you will discover the REUTENAUER label and its great vintage  Cahors wines.  
                  Chateau Bovila was founded in  1971 by E. Reutenauer, a passionate advocate of Cahors, who made these wines  famous around the world. Nowadays, Olivier Pieron is still promoting this  classic heritage, producing high quality Cahors from this 20 hectares estate  
                  Tasting notes: fruity wine with  spicy tannins and elegant woody notes made essentially from Malbec grapes with  a touch of Merlot. Barrel-aged 14 months.
