Vacqueyras is a little village of 900 inhabitants lying on the foothills of the Dentelles de Montmirail and home of the delightful troubadour Raimbaud, poet of wine and love.
In 1990 became part of the prestigious family of `Crus` beside such renowned predecessors as Chateauneuf du Pape, Tavel, Lirac and Gigondas.
The domaine is situated on high stony terraces. Grapes from this hundred year old vines benefit from many hours of sunshine, in addition to the combination of clay and limestone of the soil.
Well structured and with an elegant garnet-red colour, this wine exhales scents of ripe red fruits with a hint of liquorice. It is full-bodied and ample in the mouth. It should be served at room temperature and goes well with casseroles, game, matured cheeses.
