                    PRODUCER: GRUPPO COLTIVA SCARL
                  DOC PIEDMONT
Official status: DOCG since 1980 Grape: 100% Nebbiolo Production zone: in the Province of Cuneo, SouthEast Piedmont "Nebbiolo is a unique and inimitable grape, which is capable of delivering in a very clear fashion some wonderful aromatic wines.   These flavours do not get this expression anywhere in the world" Michael Garner, co-author of "Barolo: Tar and Roses"
Barolo is the most powerful and dramatic expression of the Nebbiolo grape. Its common traits are: a garnet hue, complex and expansive aromas of plums, dried roses, tar and liquorice. Full flavours are backed by substantial tannins, a dense texture, and alcoholic warmth.
This Barolo was aged for 4 years, of which 18 months is in oak barrels. The wine is garnet with brick-red highlights. Its ethereal bouquet is intense, attractive and has the characteristic elegance of the Nebbiolo grape variety, with notes of dried roses. On the palate, the wine is full-bodied and robust, austere but velvety
